Where do you want to go?

The largest and most populated country in the United Kingdom, the riding on offer in England is extensive and varied. Many of the world's most talented riders hail from this part of the world and that is as a result of strong riding culture across the length and breadth of this country. The riding in England is quite distinct from its Celtic counterparts. Smaller hills have forced builders to craft trails that make the most of what gravity is available. Jumps and turns - England is one hell of a place to ride mountain bikes.

Here's an overview of the North East

England's North East region is probably better suited for cycling adventures in the moorelands than it is purpose built mtb trails but that it is still home to a lot of fantastic riding. Those morelands have plenty of great riding and there are still some excellent spots specific for mountain biking.

Legendary downhill World Cup rider Danny Hart has his own pike park near Hamsterley called…you guessed it! Danny Harts Descend Hamsterley, Bike Park.  This is a great destination for fast, fun downhill trails with a quick and smooth uplift service. Just next to Descend Hamsterley is Hamsterley Forest Trail Centre. For beginner riders,  those without a DH or Enduro bike or just those looking to spin their legs, the trail centre will be a better option due to its less technical trails.

See our list below for more great riding locations in England's North East.
